Milestone is back for the joy of racing game enthusiasts with the second chapter of the most hectic racing title of the moment: the critically acclaimed Screamer 2:
PC GAMER - Game Of Distinction (88%)
PC Review - Screamer 2 is a real sequel and a top-quality arcade racer in its own right. (9/10)
Once again in the fray, the player can select between Arcade, Championship, Time Attack, Multiplayer and Combat.
He can then choose among four cars (but four other special cars could be hidden somewhere in the game), two 4WD, a front traction and a rear traction, and manual or automatic transmission.
The graphics reach high levels, especially with the 65k colours option, offering spectacular and highly detailed sceneries. The animated graphics are even more spectacular than those found in Screamer, thanks to thousands of details on the tracks side. The tracks, in fact, are beautiful and varied: it’s not only tarmac anymore, but even snow, sand and mud. There are six tracks: England, Egypt, California, Finland, Switzerland and Columbia.
Gameplay is even more technical and hectic than in Screamer, giving birth to extremely wild races against three opponents. The player can concentrate on driving rather than taking over.
Another new element is Championship mode, where the player can select one of four teams to race with in various leagues and tracks.
With the patch released with the following game, Screamer Rally, support to 3D accelerated graphic cards has been added, making Screamer 2’s graphics even more eye-catching.
